Michael S. Godner
Mr. Godner is a founding member of Lancewood and is a member of the Investment Committee. In addition, Mr. Godner is a partner in several industry leading consumer finance businesses. Prior to this, Mr. Godner was a Managing Director and principal of a New York City based family office with a specialty finance focus in the areas of non-performing consumer debt, non-performing mortgages, and sub-prime auto finance. Prior to this, Mr. Godner was the co-founder and President of Emigrant Funding Corp., a specialty finance company in the non-conforming, commercial mortgage industry. Throughout his career, Mr. Godner has invested in and managed over $50B of credit assets. Mr. Godner received his B.A. from Cornell University and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.
Alfred J. Brothers
Mr. Brothers is a member of the Investment Committee of Lancewood. In addition, Mr. Brothers is a partner in several industry leading consumer finance businesses. Prior to this, Mr. Brothers held positions as a Senior Manager with BDO Seidman, LLP in the firm’s Financial Services Consulting Group and as President and CEO of a Mid-Atlantic savings bank. Mr. Brothers has extensive consulting experience in the areas of strategic planning, mergers and acquisition and real estate lending. He has co-authored two books published by the American Bankers Association, speaks frequently conferences, and has published many articles on the distressed debt industry and sales of distressed consumer debt. Throughout his career, Mr. Brothers has invested in, sourced, and managed over $50B of credit assets. Mr. Brothers received his M.S. in Mathematical Statistics from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and B.A. with Honors in Mathematics from Oberlin College.

Alexander Zaro

Alexander Zaro is a member of the Advisory Committee of Lancewood contributing his expertise in business development and the growth of financial services companies. Alex is currently a partner in several industry leading consumer finance companies. Previously, Alexander worked for Cantor Fitzgerald, BGC Partners, and Tullett Prebon. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the Carey Business School at Arizona State University and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business. Alex has been involved in the investment and management of over $30B of capital.
Jeremy Zaro

Jeremy Zaro is a member of the Advisory Committee of Lancewood. Jeremy is also CFO of an industry leading consumer finance company. Prior to this, Jeremy worked in a natural gas options and futures trading. Jeremy holds a B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of Michigan.
Tino Martins

Director, Co-Head of Real Estate Credit
Tino Martins is a member of the Advisory Committee of Lancewood. Tino is a Director and Co-Head of Real Estate Credit for an industry leading financial service company. Prior to Lancewood, Mr. Martins held portfolio management roles at Ellington Management Group, a mortgage-focused hedge fund manager. During his 9 years at Ellington, he oversaw residential and small-balance commercial loan acquisition, servicing, and trading strategies, created, and implemented several pricing models and acquired over $5.8B of commercial and residential mortgages. Prior to joining Ellington, he was Senior Risk Manager for Parker Global Strategies, a CT-based fund-of-funds where he focused on portfolio optimization and hedging to reduce systematic risk and increase alpha. Previous experience also includes financial advisory and qualified retirement planning roles. Tino earned a B.S. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts.
Stephanie Platzman-Diamant
Stephanie Platzman-Diamant is a member of the advisory committee of Lancewood and brings extensive legal experience as a transactional and litigation attorney. Stephanie has worked as a senior in-house attorney for multiple industry leading financial services companies, providing operational and transactional support to business units.

Justin Godner

Director, Co-Head of Real Estate Credit

Justin is a Director and Co-Head of Real Estate Credit Investments at Lancewood Capital. Justin joined Lancewood in 2017 and is responsible for the origination, structuring, underwriting, and servicing of lender finance opportunities and direct bridge lending opportunities. In 2020, Justin co-founded the lender finance platform to provide more efficient, flexible, and reliable senior financing to alternative CRE lenders and note buyers. Justin has established more than 30 lender finance relationships to date. Since Joining Lancewood, Justin has been involved in the structuring of over $1B of commercial real estate debt investments and has been involved in over $1.25B of real estate investments since the start of his career. Justin is based in NYC and actively focuses on the New York, Florida, and California markets. Prior to Lancewood, Justin worked at Eastdil Secured, Olmstead Properties, and Wells Fargo. Justin graduated with honors from Syracuse University where he earned a B.A. in Economics and Real Estate. Justin completed the Construction Finance Management executive course at Columbia University and earned a Master of Real Estate degree from Georgetown University with a concentration in development and finance.
Matt Schatzle

Matt Schatzle is a Senior Vice President at Lancewood Capital. He joined Lancewood Capital in 2019 and is responsible for the origination, structuring and underwriting of first lien lending opportunities in the $3MM-$50MM space. Matt has 12 years of real estate investment experience and plays a primary role in the firm’s originations. Since joining Lancewood, Matt has been involved in the structuring of over $500MM commercial real estate debt investments and has been involved in over $1B of real estate investments since the start of his career. Matt is based in NYC and actively focuses on the New York and Florida markets where he has deep rooted connections with many industry professionals who provide access to new investment opportunities. Prior to Lancewood, Matt worked at Hirshmark Capital, Anderson Carr and The Delray Beach Redevelopment Agency. Matt graduated from Florida State University where he earned a B.S. in Management.
Stephen Zaro

Stephen is New York based and actively focuses on the New York market in addition to other major markets throughout the United States. Stephen has an extensive real estate network that provides access to new investment opportunities in larger U.S markets. Prior to joining Lancewood, Stephen worked at Estreich & Company, a real estate advisory firm, where he was responsible for arranging debt and equity transactions for the firm’s extensive client base. Stephen graduated with a BA from Syracuse University.

Prior to Lancewood, Tyler worked at Purdy Powers & Company, where he gained experience in accounting. He graduated with honors from Syracuse University, earning a B.S in Accounting and Real Estate.
Vincent Sabia

Vincent is a Senior Portfolio Management Analyst at Lancewood Capital. He joined the firm in 2022 and is responsible for the servicing of the firm’s loan portfolio. Since joining Lancewood, Vincent has serviced more than $1B of loan investments for the firm. Prior to lancewood, Vincent worked for a multifamily investment company based in Westchester, NY. Vincent graduated with honors from Brooklyn College where he earned a B.S in Business Economics. Vincent achieved a perfect math SAT score among other academic accolades.
Max Haberman

Analyst

Max joined Lancewood Capital in 2025. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Gotham Organization in New York City, where he gained experience in commercial real estate development. Max holds a BBA in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s Wisconsin School of Business, home to one of the nation’s top-ranked undergraduate real estate programs.
Tyler Marcus

Analyst

Tyler joined Lancewood Capital in 2025. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Newmark in New York City, where he gained experience in commercial real estate. Tyler holds a B.S in Finance and Real Estate from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, where he graduated with academic honors, including a Dean’s Scholarship and induction into the National Honor Society.
